Online Injury & Illness Reports Due March 2, 2022
On July 30, 2018 OSHA issued a new proposed rule to its recordkeeping and reporting regulations for workplace injuries and illnesses. Previously, OSHA required that organizations with 250+ employees e-file their injury and illness data from OSHA Forms 300, 301, and 300A and those with 20+ employees in high-risk industries to e-file their injury and illness data from OSHA Form 300A.
Now, larger organizations (250+) will only be expected to e-submit their 300A form. High-hazard establishments with 20+ employees are still required to e-submit their 300A logs.
- Establishments with 250+ employees shall e-file their 300A Summary but not OSHA Forms 300 and 301
- High-risk establishments of 20+ employees shall continue to e-file their 300A Summary
March 2, 2022 is the deadline to e-file your 2021 data using OSHA’s Injury Tracking Application (ITA). (This deadline – March 2 – will recur in the proceeding years).
Please note, although you are only required to electronically submit your 300A Summary information, most businesses with more than 10 employees are required to maintain all three forms (300, 301, & 300A) and submit that information to an OSHA Compliance Officer, should they request it.
Also, anyone who is required to maintain injury and illness records, must post the 300A, Summary of Work-Related Injuries & Illnesses, from February 1 – April 30th in a conspicuous area of your office where employees can see it.
